August 2022 Message from The Pastor’s Wife, Sis. Alene Stanley

Ladies of Hopewell,

The Team Leaders for the Women’s Ministry will be planning a Women Enriching Women Fellowship, to take place in the coming weeks. But until then I ask that we focus on the following; in Hebrews 13:1-2 it says, keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. When has someone shown you unexpected hospitality? Maybe it was a compliment when you were down on yourself, a love offering when you were having trouble with bills, or even just a word, a smile, or small act of kindness when you most needed it. What would happen if we interrupted our days more often to do the same? And what if we greeted each interruption with “Lord, what do you want to do here?” sometimes we miss these God interruptions. Insecurities, awkwardness, and busy schedules can keep us from responding to interruptions God has prepared. So, let’s resist that urge and make a habit out of the following:

• Speak an encouraging word to someone waiting in line with you.
• Acknowledge a cashier or server by their name.
• Make eye contact when you talk to people.
• Respond patiently to people’s rudeness.
• Speak to your neighbor, or wave from a distance.
• Pay someone a compliment. If you look for something, you will find.

Allow God to continually soften our hearts so that it beats for what His hearts beats for, which are people. As we stay close to Him, we will start to see what He sees and love as He loves.
