March 2022 – Random Act of Kindness Month

Ladies of Hopewell,

It is with heartfelt appreciation that I say thanks to you for your love and support of the women’s ministry. As you know, we Zoom on Monday evenings for our Face-to-Face Christian Growth and Development class. And MANY of you are present. And then on Saturday mornings at 8:00, again, you call in and participate in our Prayer Circle. I’m encouraged by you and reminded of an Old African Proverb that says “If you want to go fast, go alone. But, to go far, go together.” I can truly say that together, we are reaching Higher Heights and Deeper Depth in Christ Jesus.

Ladies, let’s make this a “Random Act of Kindness Month.” Jesus said in John 13:34-35, “As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” As a disciple of Christ, I encourage you to look for individuals to express your love to through a kind act. It could be someone that you know, or a complete stranger. One sign of Jesus’ work in us is that we start extending His love and compassion to the broken, the marginalized, and the hurting. When we want for other people the good that we want for ourselves, we are following His command and loving others as we love ourselves. As Jesus’ character is formed within us, we will find ourselves acting more according to His priorities. Because we’ll have His heart, we won’t be able to ignore or remain disconnected from the needs of the people in our church; our community and those that we come in contact with.

As the Lord works in your heart, ask for inspiration and wisdom for ways to love His children. That’s one thing He will freely give (James 1:5). There is more than enough love to share.

His Love & Mine,

Sis. Alene Stanley
