March 2023 Message from The Pastor’s Wife, Sis. Alene Stanley
Ladies of Hopewell,
Our first Women Enriching Women event for the year was OUTSTANDING! With close to 200 women in attendance, we were blessed by the presenters, praise dancers and the soloist. We are off to a great start, so let us maintain the momentum and stay connected with the Women at the Well and participate in all the upcoming events.
The first day of spring is Monday, March 20th. And many of us will focus on spring cleaning our homes, but in addition, let us also examine our spiritual lives to determine the areas where some dusting, sweeping, and mopping are needed. Increasing our prayer life, reading/meditating on the Word of God and attending church services regularly are ways to refresh, restore, re-energize our walk and commitment to God.
March also is Women’s History Month. Since Congress passed a resolution in 1987 designating March as women’s history month, many organizations have sponsored events to celebrate women and to remember the important contributions they have made. This year we did not plan a special event, instead I encourage you to look a little closer at the women in your life who have impacted the lives of others and look for ways to honor them for their unselfish, untiring, and extraordinary achievements.
Our Ladies by the Lake event is scheduled for Saturday, May 6th at Tradewinds Park/ Atala Pavilion. There will be Fishing, Food, Fun Games and Fellowship. The cost is $25.00. You can pay online at Hopewell’s website or use the Women’s Ministry envelope. So, plan to attend and feel free to invite a close friend.
His Love and Mine,
Alene Stanley
