Pastor’s Perspective September 2022

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2  It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
3  As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.  (Psalm 133:1-3)

Hopewell, I am filled with excitement as I witness our commitment to unite in a spirit of unity to fulfill the vision ordained by God for us. Because we have been purpose driven and not progression disrupters we have accomplished much, and the best is yet to come. The Psalmist was correct when he declared that our God praises, portraits, and prefers unity. Therefore, as you have often heard me say, “God commands His Blessings wherever he finds Unity,” which explains the manifold blessings we have experienced. So, I want to thank the entire congregation for your consistent support and sacrifice to all of our immediate goals. And I am confident that we will achieve the other goals that will position us to refocus on erecting our banquet and educational wings.

As you know September marks our 33rd Pastoral Anniversary Celebration, I want to thank President Gloria Wallace and the Pastor’s Anniversary Committee (PAC) in advance for all they have planned, as well as everyone for all acts of kindness, and heartfelt presentations, we shall receive during this year’s celebration. As Sis. Stanley says, “People Don’t Have to be Nice, It’s a Choice.” Please know that it has been and continues to be a high honor and precious privilege to serve as your leaders for Thirty-Three (33) wonderful years. And while God only knows how much longer we will serve, I do know we will continue to serve with all our might until then.

Hopewell, nothing would please us more than to see as many of you as possible in attendance to each event as we celebrate over three (3) decades of service.

So, as we prepare for the month of September, I ask as always, that you continue to honor the covenant to follow me even as I follow Christ.

Progressing in the Light and Power of God’s Word,

Pastor R. C. Stanley
