Pastor’s Perspective June 2024

Pastor’s Perspective June 2024

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thess. 5:18)

Hopewell, the favor of God continues to rest upon us as we submit to manifesting the power of God through the word and worship. As we enter the month of June, we find ourselves midway through the year and it is clear that the Lord has been good to us. In spite of the challenges we have faced, God has proven to be faithful. Therefore, we should all give thanks to God knowing that He will continue to manifest himself to us. I want to thank Min. Jimmie Habersham for providing faithful leadership in my absence; it is apparent that his leadership was respected and supported by the entire congregation. And thank you Hopewell for your faithful and impartial support of Min. Habersham.

As you know this is the month when we celebrate our graduating seniors, and I want to thank Dr. Norice Callaway and the scholarship committee for their commitment and diligence in making our scholarship pageantry a great success. This year our guest speaker will be Mrs. Kay Lang, Intern Principal of Monarch High School and I am confident that she will encourage, enlighten, and empower our graduates to enter the next phase of their journey with courage and confidence. I also want to encourage everyone to contribute to our scholarship fund no matter the amount. Because of our faithful contributions we have assisted many of our graduates with their education. So, I want to thank everyone in advance for donating according to your level of academic achievement and financial ability.

Also, this is the month we celebrate the fantastic Fathers in our congregation. Now, for those of us whose fathers are in the presence of God, let us reflect on the inspiration and instructions they taught to us when they were among us. And for those who may not have known your biological father, thank God for being a faithful and loving father to you and for the fantastic father you have become. I want to encourage every son, daughter, and God child to do something very special, for your fathers for they are truly deserving of it. And again, this year we will celebrate all the Men in our congregation who love like fathers. Their mentorship is making a major difference in the life of many of our young men.

So, Hopewell as usual I ask that you continue to honor our unbreakable covenant to follow me even as I follow Christ.

Manifesting God’s Power,

Pastor R. C. Stanley
