Pastor’s Perspective July 2026

If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say; 2  If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: (Ps. 124:1-2)

Hopewell, again I am extremely excited about how God continues to move among us. The favor of God continues to surround us, and His blessings are clearly manifested in our lives. Many members have experienced God’s divine healing power and his daily hefty provisions. And Even as we navigate these challenging times, God has faithfully supplied all our needs. To God Be The Glory!!!

As you know, during this month we will be celebrating our 80th Church Anniversary, what a remarkable milestone. So, welcome to Jubilant July!!!

Eighty (80) years ago, our founders were prompted by the Holy Spirit and came together to start this great ministry. What obedience, commitment, unselfishness, and sacrifice our founders possessed to lay such a strong and unshakable foundation. And I am convinced that the testament to their success would sound just like the words of the psalmist in (Ps.124:1) If it had not been the LORD who was on our side. Hopewell, since 1946 God has always stood by our side. In spite of the expected growing pains and challenging circumstances, this great ministry stayed the course.

And while we are committed to eliminating our mortgage, we do not want this effort to eclipse the significance of this grand 80th Church Anniversary. I have asked Deaconess Larita Jones to Chair the 80th Church Anniversary committee and I am encouraging every member to participate and support all planned activities and request during this monumental celebration.

Hopewell, I also want to encourage everyone interested in being a part of the Apostle’s Theater to please sign up. As you know, it’s been quite some time since we’ve enjoyed this uplifting evening of inspiration and entertainment, due to the Pandemic. I want to express my appreciation to our Performing Arts Director, Keshia Flint, and Bro. Johnny Larkins for their dedication in bringing this beloved event back, which serves as a wonderful kickoff to our 80th Church Anniversary celebrations. Let’s come together to support this special occasion and please be sure to invite at least seven (7) guests to share in this experience.

Then, on the 3rd Sunday, July 21st we will celebrate our 80th Church Anniversary. And again, I am excited to have my friend and covenant partner Rev. Alex Bunion, the Senior Pastor of The Church at Pine Hill, in Valdosta, Georgia to be our guest speaker. And we know that God will give him a powerful word to empower and encourage us as we Progress with a Fresh Divine Directive.

Hopewell, as always, I ask with a heart filled with joy and gratitude, that you continue to follow me even as I follow Christ.

Progressing with a Fresh Divine Directive,

Pastor R.C. Stanley
