Pastor’s Perspective February 2024

So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work. Nehemiah 4:6 (KJV)

Hopewell, we are off to a great start as we collectively manifest God’s power through the Word and Worship. I am so thankful and grateful to God as He reveals himself to each of us as we yield to his will. God has spoken powerfully through his word and we have without reservation worshipped God in spirit and in truth. As we enter another Black History Month, it is another opportunity for us to be inspired, enlightened, and empowered by our rich and resilient history. I want to thank Sis. Lakay Wilkerson and the Black History Committee for their commitment and dedication to providing another enriching Black History Celebration. The theme this year, “Expressing The Manifestation of God’s Purpose Through The Arts,” will familiarize us with the many creative contributions that have left an indelible mark on all of humanity.

This year we will be blessed to have Dr. Robert Smith Jr., Professor at Beeson Divinity School, again on third Sunday as our Black History Celebration speaker. Also, on fourth Sunday, our speaker will be Rev. Leonard Wilson Jr., Pastor of Experiencing the Word Ministries in Decatur, Ga.  I know we will be blessed by both Dr. Smith and Rev. Wilson as they challenge us to walk in our ordained purpose.

Also, this year during our Tuesday Inspirational Service, we will highlight many achievements and contributions of current African Americans and the impact they are having in America and around the world. And again, this year we will have dinner following our old fashioned service, which will be a time of great fellowship, food, and fun.

Finally, I want to thank everyone for your participation in our Kingdom Building by Birth, especially the Leaders of each month. I encourage us to embrace the mind and attitude of Nehemiah and the people. So, despite the challenges they faced, they had a mind to build. Therefore, let us rise to the occasion and achieve our goal as we have done every year.

Hopewell, as always, I ask that you continue to follow me even as I follow Christ.

Manifesting God’s Power,

Pastor R.C. Stanley
