Pastor’s Perspective December 2023

Pastor’s Perspective December 2023

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. (Matt. 1:23).

Hopewell, here we are again entering the final month of another year and even though the previous months were not without their challenges, God has proven to be our personal present help. I want to thank every member for your unwavering commitment and support in regathering, reengaging, renewing, refocusing, and recommitting to serving God. We have responded to every challenge and God has met our every need and I want to thank each of you.

December is going to be a month filled with joy and excitement. Because Christmas Eve will be on a Sunday this year, we will not have our annual Christmas service, instead on Christmas Eve we are going to have a special Happy Birthday Jesus Cantata Celebration presented by Sis. LaKeisha Flint and our Performing Arts Ministry. This is going to be a celebration like none other.

There will be singing, liturgical dancing, speeches, oratorios, and a Christmas message that will help us to appreciate The Savior. I am asking every member to participate in this special Happy Birthday Jesus Cantata Celebration by bringing a sacrificial gift of one hundred ($100.00) dollars or whatever you are able to give. Remember, this gift is in addition to our tithes and offerings. Hopewell, I assure you that you don’t want to miss this never before Happy Birthday Jesus Christmas Eve Cantata Celebration.

And because New Year’s Eve is on a Sunday this year, we will do it all over again with a special New Year’s Eve Celebration. Of course, the excitement will be magnified with the anticipation and expectation of 2024 and believe me you certainly don’t want to miss this service, that is designed to prepare us for the New Year. Hopewell, let’s commit not only to being present but inviting as many of our family members and friends as possible.

Hopewell, as we close out this final month in 2023, lets finish strong and attend every scheduled service and as always, I ask you to follow me even as I follow Christ.

Recommitting to Serving God,

Pastor R. C. Stanley
