June 2023 Message from The Pastor’s Wife, Sis. Alene Stanley
Ladies of Hopewell,
Here we are at the halfway mark of 2023 and we have experienced troubling times in our nation and witness the same in the world at large. But, thank God for His protection and for bringing us this far.
Ladies, Michelle Obama’s book “The Light that we Carry” is an excellent read. I encourage you to get the book and plan to participate in our first discussion on Monday, the 5th at 6pm, before our Christian Growth and Development Class. We will review and discuss pages 1 through 118 (Part One).
Also, please plan to join us for our first lesson following the book talk and invite your family, friends, and your neighbors to be a part. The presentation and discussion will be about “Ways to Respond to a Loved One Exhibiting Signs of Depression.” As you know, mental illness is on the rise like never before and unfortunately, we cannot help everybody, but it is important for us to be informed and equipped to assist those who are close to us. In addition, we will explore Brain Health and Wellness. Then on Monday, August 7th, our friend, Lynnette Fuller-Kennerly, Licensed Mental Health Counselor will join us, via Zoom, to address and discuss “Guarding our Minds.” Save the date!
My sisters, so much is being planned and scheduled with you in mind and I pray and hope that you would take advantage of every opportunity that is being presented to you.
To all the godly and committed fathers who have sacrificed so much for their children, you are role models and heroes, who are providers and protectors. We acknowledge you as men of valor and pray for joy, peace, and happiness during this Father’s Day celebration.
HIS Love and Mine,
Alene Stanley
