Pastor’s Perspective May 2024

“I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (Psalm 34:1)

Hopewell, April has been a bittersweet month. God called home from among us the Late Rev. Nathaniel Stevenson, a Great Man, Great Husband, Great Father, Great Grandfather, Great Brother, Great Uncle, Great Friend, Great Assistant Pastor, and a Great Member of the body of Christ. We are grateful to God and the Stevenson family for allowing us as a family to celebrate his life, labor, and legacy during our worship service time. While he is absent from us physically, his presence shall continue to live in our heart and memory. And he will forever be remembered as the only Assistant Pastor to serve during my tenure. Amen!

And then God in His infinite wisdom gave us cause to celebrate our first Visionary Men of Valor and Virtuous Women of Victory 2.0 Unity Service, and what a time we had. The Men of Valor on 3rd Sunday, opened with a powerful song service that stirred and blessed the house, and on 4th Sunday the Women of Victory, closed the song service with fervor and an anointing that saturated the house. Then we were blessed to hear again from Sis. Alene Stanley who delivered a Word that literally edified and encouraged our heart. What a time, What a time, What a time. Hallelujah!

As we enter the month of May, we are filled with expectation and excitement about what God is going to do in our midst. Again, on the second Sunday, I want to encourage everyone who is blessed to have your loving mother still with you, to please think of something unexpected and extremely special for Her. Believe me, there is nothing you can think of doing that can repay your mother for all she has done for you. And for those of us who are blessed with the precious and pleasant memories of our loving mothers who are now in the presence of God, let us find great comfort and strength in knowing we had mothers who went to great lengths to provide our every need. And let me say to all Mothers here at The Well, thank you for being exceptional and influential mothers who are making a difference by being Godly examples to your children.

Again, this year we are going to do something special for the Women Who Love Like Mothers in our congregation. There are women among us who nurture and sow into the lives of many children and we want to continue celebrating them. I want to thank Sis. Alene Stanley for recognizing and recommending that we acknowledge and appreciate these wonderful women who are making life changing contributions.

So, in closing Hopewell, as always, I ask that you follow me even as I follow Christ and let us continue to manifest the Power of God through the Word and Worship.

Manifesting The Power Of God,

Pastor R. C. Stanley
