Pastor’s Perspective December 2024

Pastor’s Perspective December 2024

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High. (Ps.92: 1)

Hopewell, the spirit of thanksgiving is appropriate when we think of all the Lord has done for us as we enter the month of December. Not only are we thankful for the birth of our Savior and the opportunity to celebrate His redemptive purpose, but we are thankful for the favor God continues to bestow upon us indiscriminately. All of us can testify to the goodness of our God. He has healed some of us, delivered some of us, sustained some of us, opened doors for some of us, and provided for all of us, as well as allowed us to meet every challenge to advance the kingdom.

This is the passion behind the praise of the Psalmist. He declares not only that it is appropriate to give thanks to God, but it is a good thing. It is a desirable state of mind, which produces happiness, contentment, and peace. So, as we enter and exit the last month of 2024 let us thank God for every mountain He brought us over, for every trial He seen us through, and for every blessing He bestowed upon us.

Having said that, I want to encourage every member in the spirit of thankfulness to finish this year strong. There are some members who have not returned since the pandemic, and I challenge you to return to worship and help us lift up Jesus our Savior and Lord. I am also excited about our Happy Birthday Jesus Christmas service, as always, I am asking every member to bring a sacrificial gift of one hundred ($100.00) dollars or whatever you are able to give.

Of course, if the good Lord willing and the Church don’t rise, we will have our New Years eve service on Tuesday the 31st at 7pm. I encourage you to come expecting a powerful move of God as we exit 2024 and enter 2025.

So, Hopewell, for the last time this year, I ask that you honor our covenant to follow me even as I follow Christ.

Manifesting God’s Power,
Pastor R. C. Stanley
