Pastor’s Perspective August 2024

And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. (Num. 13:30)

Hopewell, we have had an outstanding 78th Church Anniversary Celebration, and forgive me for being so excited, but when I think of our founding members, Rev. and Sister D.V. Miller; Deacon Frank and Deaconess Rosabell Frazier; Deacon and Deaconess Lowe Griffin; Bro. and Sis. Jimmie Lee Johnson; Sis. Mary Evans, Sis. Louella Gainer, Bro. Frank Simms and Bro. Charlie Lovette, and their coming together to commit themselves and their resources to start this Great Church, it just reminds me of how we are members of a ministry that God has ordained. And I want to thank everyone for your sacrificial gifts no matter the amount, for we have the blessed assurance like our founders that God is with us.

As we anticipate commencing the renovation of our 3G project I am asking that everyone pray for the project as well as participate in doing the things we can do to defray some of the renovation cost. The next few months is going to be an exciting time for all of us especially our children as they await their state-of-the-art multi-purpose facility that will be relevant to their generation. Therefore, let us embrace the same faith and fortitude that Caleb encouraged Moses and the Israelites to have in order to possess the land of Canaan.

There is further cause for excitement, because this month we will, celebrate another Visionary Men of Valor / Virtuous Women of Victory 2.0 worship service. I am humbly asking every woman and man to participate in this special time of worship. As you know the men will be serving on 3rd Sunday and the women on 4th Sunday with Sis. Alene Stanley bringing the word for the women. Let’s make this a grand celebration.

Hopewell, we have so much to be thankful for, so let us continue to demonstrate our faithfulness to a faithful God. And as always, I asked that you continue to follow me even as I follow Christ.

Manifesting the Power of God,
Pastor R. C. Stanley
