Pastor’s Perspective February 2026

Pastor’s Perspective February 2026

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. (1 Cor. 10:31)

Hopewell, as we enter the second month of 2026, it is clear to all of us that we are progressing with a fresh divine directive. I am so excited over what God is going to manifest in our presence during the month of February. We have postured ourselves to possess God’s promise blessings as we navigate through this year with perpetual enthusiasm and personal expectations. The words of the Apostle Paul remind us of the importance of making sure that all we do is intended for God to get the glory. As I have already declared this is the year to fortify our faith and foster our fellowship. So, this month as we gather together let us do so, praising our God and encouraging one another.

I am also extremely excited to announce the release of the Remnant of Praise album on the 15th. This album has been a labor of love, and I am thankful to everyone who was involved in making it possible. Hopewell, now it is our responsibility to collectively make it a success. First, I am asking every individual member to purchase the album, I personally think it would be an indictment not to. Secondly, I am asking every individual member to commit to encouraging at least 10 of your friends, co-workers, or family members to purchase the Album. If each member will commit to this request, we will be well on our way to selling a million Albums. That’s a good place to say Amen!

Also, to further add to all the excitement and enthusiasm for this month, as you well know, we will celebrate our monumental and magnificent history. I want to thank Sis. Lakay Wilkerson and The Black History Committee, for preparing another exceptional Black History Celebration, filled with the usual instruction, inspiration, and introspection. This year’s theme is “Celebrating 100 years of Honoring Black History Month”, reflecting on the progression and impact this celebration has had on African Americans and our nation. This celebration will enhance our knowledge and appreciation of our enormous contributions.

Again, this year our speaker will be none other than Dr. Robert Smith Jr., retired professor of Christian preaching at Beeson Divinity School and a friend of The Well. It is no secret, all who have heard Dr. Smith knows that he will challenge us with a powerful word that will inspire us as people, as well as to instruct us as believers. Also, this year our Old Fashion Day speaker will be Rev. Leonard Wilson Jr. of Decatur, Georgia, the second son of the late Dr. Leonard and Nola Wilson Sr.  Hopewell, I remind you of the special relationship with the Wilson/Davis families, and we are expecting a powerful move of God as we reflect on where the Lord has brought us from.

Let me close by saying how grateful and thankful I am to each of you for your sacrificial support to eliminate our mortgage, and I know by July 19th we will have a stellar 80th Church Anniversary. Another good place to say Amen!!!

So, Hopewell as always, I ask that you “Follow me even as I follow Christ”, which has been the sacred covenant that has protected and strengthen our relationship for over 36 years.
