Pastor’s Perspective July 2024

So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work. (Neh. 4:6)

Hopewell, as we continue to witness God manifest His power through the word and worship, we have clearly and eagerly committed ourselves to God and the things of God. And as a result, we have experienced the manifold blessings of God individually and collectively. As we enter the month of July and commence the second half of the year, it is going to be a very delightful and demanding time. Not only will we celebrate our Seventy-eight (78th) Church Anniversary, but the renovation for the 3G project will start in August. And I am asking every member to consider giving a sacrificial gift toward this renovation. I am reminded of the words of Nehemiah to Israel when the walls of Jerusalem were in ruins. The People saw the condition and committed themselves to rebuild the walls. And there we read in (Neh. 4:6), that they built the wall unto the half thereof: for we are told that the people had a mind to work. So, Hopewell, let us join together with one accord and once again achieve our goal.

And with this in mind let us approach our seventy- eighth (78th) Church Anniversary with the same tenacity and determination as our founders. Hopewell, again I remind you that we are a part of a rich and resilient history, and we are standing on the shoulders and in the spirit of our founders who laid the foundation and set the standard for progressive ministry.
Again, I am compelled to acknowledge our courageous founding members, Rev. and Sister D.V. Miller; Deacon Frank and Deaconess Rosabell Frazier; Deacon and Deaconess Lowe Griffin; Bro. and Sis. Jimmie Lee Johnson; Sis. Mary Evans, Sis. Louella Gainer, Bro. Frank Simms, and Bro. Charlie Lovette for adhering to the call and accepting the challenge to establish a life changing ministry. To God Be The Glory!

Hopewell, I am asking every member to support our Church Anniversary by giving ($78.00) dollars, a dollar per year. I am also asking 78 members to pray about going beyond the assessed amount and give $780.00 to assist with our 3G project. And as always, I am convinced if every member gives according to their ability, we will have all we need for the renovation.
Again, I ask you to follow me even as I follow Christ.
